Cosmetic companies and beauty lines often times like to sell us the idea that their products will make us beautiful. If we dab some cream under our eyes, brush on some powder, and conceal with there special line of products then we will automatically be beautiful however, Lamik Beauty isn’t buying it
Lamik Beauty is one of the first eco-chic makeup brands that include facial care and eyebrows.Lamik Beauty founder Kim Roxie wanted a Cosmetic line that would not only help women discover their beauty, but would also be healthy for them. Their slogan “Beauty is revealed, not applied” immediately caught my eye. Living with a skin disorder it took me a long time to accept the fact that I was beautiful with or without makeup and I’m so glad that this cosmetic line is helping to women to realize this.
Lamik Beauty is located Houston Texas with other locations in Atlanta and one to come soon in LA. These locations offer a variety of services ranging from “Makeup 101 Featuring You, to Eyelash Enhancement to Brush Spring Cleaning. I think the idea of Brush Spring Cleaning is amazing, who wouldn’t love to be able to drop their brushes off after a big job and shop for new products while their brushes get cleaned?? Two of biggest services that stood out to me about Lamik Beauty is their Detox you Makeup bag service where you can trade out your synthetic health risking makeup for organic, healthier, eco-friendlier, makeup products and got 10% off your new products along with their “Recreate your lips program” which takes your old lipstick and redesigns it without all the toxic ingredients!!
Lamik offers a array of products for your everyday beauty needs and after browsing the website there was a long list of things I wanted to try. I was recently given the opportunity to sample some of the Lamik Beauty Products. Here are the items pictured below along with thoughts. *Please note Foundation and Mineral Powder are in Sample Jars*
True Mineral Powder- Light Carmel $26.00: Paraben Free, talc free, fragrance free, Infused with Green Tea Extract Weight 0.34oz
Pros:Very Light, does not leave face looking chalky
Cons: Understandably this is a sample jar but I hope for true size products that they come in a larger size. I could not really get my large powder brush to pick up powder w/o spillage.
Full Coverage Oil Free Foundation-M25: This full coverage foundation evens complexion, hide blemishes, and imperfections creating a flawless finish designed to enhance your natural skintone
A lightweight coverage found to look more natural
than most leading brands liquid foundation
Ideal use for any skin type!
- Very Nice Coverage, was able to cover my skin disorder without prior concealor application.
- On first thought it seemed a bit light, but dried to match my complexion.
- A little goes a very long way
- After wearing for over 4hrs I was not oily at all. I definite thumbs up!!
- Very thick while it is understandable that this is a full coverage makeup blending is a must.
Healthy LIp Gloss-Sweetie: Infused with antioxidants, which stops the free radicals that cause cancer, long lasting color and avocado oil for moisture makes for a lipgloss with your health in mind
- Not sticky
- Very light Shimmer
- Not very pigmented, but can be worn as a stand alone lip gloss, after wearing for a couple or hours lips did not feel dry or chapped.
Lipstick- Already Raisin: Smooth silky texture glides on with definite color and infused with Antioxidants containing no polybutene
- Glides on very smooth
- Very Pigmented
- Lipstick was great however, I am unsure of the name since the sticker on the bottom came off!
Here is a pic of me wearing the foundation along with the mineral powder. My top pick out of all of these would be their oil free full coverage foundation. If I can ever visit a store I will definitely check out more of their produces and the foundation is going to be a keeper on my list.
