The Maybelline ColorSensational Vivids Collection features ten eye popping colors in gorgeous rich and creamy hues that make you just wanna smack ya mama… Okay maybe that’s a bit much, but seriously If you don’t own many MAC Cosmetics lipsticks the Sensational Vivid Collection offers tons of look alikes and at a fraction of the cost!!

Vivid Up Close Collage Now don’t sit up here and tell me you dont want to run to the store and just grab them all!! The formula of these lipsticks are very creamy. Due to the creamy nature I had to lower my expectations on the amount of pigmentation that they would really provide. Check out swatches of the Maybelline ColorSensational Vivids and more information on each one listed below.

1, Pink Pop: Pink Pop is a vibrant bubblegum toned lipstick. This is the only lipstick out of the bunch that I would say may not be brown girl friendly. I am an NC45 (aren’t we all) and MatchMaster 7.5 in MAC and this lipstick came off very Tyrone Biggums on me. A friend suggested lining with a darker lip liner, but I doubt that would help. This color reminds me of MAC’s Candy Yum Yum but just a bit paler.

2. Fuschia Flash is a rich watermelonesque shade. I’m a sucker for Fuchsia toned lipsticks and I was really pleased at how great this one looked on. Fuschia Flash is properly named because the color looks almost electric! This color is very comparable to Milani’s Rose Hips or MACs Quick Sizzle, Booyah or Dear Diary. You can find pictures of those colors here.

3. Vivid Rose is definetely not your usual muted rose toned lipstick. This is a rich pink/magenta color.

4. Vibrant Madarin is a reddish deep coral orange shade. It’s very reminiscent of MACs Lady Danger, Good to Go or Milani’s Madarina. Surprisingly this color was a lot more red then Maybelline’s Neon Red Lipstick which is shown next, though you can see it has some pink undertones.

5. Neon Red is very much more so orange than red. This might be due to the electric warm hue of the lipstick. Neon Red look very much like Vibrant Mandarin except it has a more reddish orange undertone that really make bright.

6. On Fire Red is the reddest of the bunch. I squealed when I saw this lipstick, but of course I have an unhealthy obsession with red. On Fire Red is a deep rich red shade. I wanted it to be a little more pigmented then what it was however since this is a “vivid” collection the brightness of the color is understandable. This color is reminiscent of MACs Red or Russian Red though without much of the blue undertones.

7. Hot Plum is one of the two purple toned lipsticks in the group. This lipstick is a blend of purple and pink with a hint of shimmer throughout. This lipstick is a little deeper then Fuchsia Flash, the pink in this lipstick really takes over. With a name like Hot Plum I would have loved to see it be a little more purple.

8. Last but not least Brazen Berry. With Brazen Berry I had high hopes that it would show up as a more electric deeper purple, but it instead looked like what I expected Hot Plum to be. This is warm toned purple lipstick that kinda creeps along the line of being a dark lavender.

So what did you think of the new Maybelline ColorSensational Vivids Collection? For a spring collection I think they hit the mark as far as colors are concerned. The colors are very bright and the moisture content acceptable due to their enrichment with honey nectar. You may need to add a bit of gloss to keep your lips really moisturized throughout the day. Don’t see them in your store’s yet? Don’t worry, these guys are set to be in all stores starting January and are priced at $7.49 a piece! Thanks so much for taking time to post so many swatches/pics–appreciate the opportunity to compare shades. Best Color Sensational Vivids post I’ve seen yet! I really don’t “need” any of these hues–but I wants ‘em all (uh, except for T. Biggums’ look, lol)! :-)

Pink Pigeon is def a great one to have in your collection along with Party Parrot. If you can’t get them these are excellent dupes and a fraction of the cost!

I finally got my hands on them.I got the Vibrant Mandarin, Plum, Electric Orange, Fuchsia Flash, Vivid Rose & Shocking Coral. Love them all! I ordered the Pink Pop. Brazen Berry was sold out probably wont get it but that red looks good on you. I think I might pick those up!

Hey I got them today!! I wanted to tell u I seen u said that pink pop reminded u of candy yum yum, and I have candy yum yum and the fucshia flash is almost a dead on dupe without the matte. I know so many people thought fuchsia fever was a dupe and if u compare the 3 fuchsia flash is like prefect with it. I assume they know that and made one even closer because it go so much attention for being a dupe (which kind of makes me wonder if this comming out had anything to do with them making candy yum yum permenant now?) I love love love matte lips and I almost like it better. Pink pop is much closer to wet wild doll house pink. Anyway thanks again! If it wasn’t for u I might not have knew these were out and might had been to late and not been able to get the ones I wanted (besides the 2 I said I got the rose and plum, for some resaon they didn’t have the brazen berry, they had just put them out at walgreens bogo half off and had plums in the berries place too)

Yay!! I’m so glad my post helped you and I’m so glad you got themm a lot of people are already reporting them to be sold out! Those lipsticks are flying off the shelves like hotcakes! I’m not sure if you’re into the color tattoos but the new metal ones should be coming out soon. Make sure you snatch up electric blue and gold rush in those!

I am too! I got these right after they put them out. He was actually still putting new items out. They also had just put out the rimmel kate moss mattes! I turned after picking the four up and oh S&%#!! They would have these now (I had been looking for them lately) but I had went spent 40 bucks on only 2 blushes at sephora yesturday and then buying those 4 lipsticks I knew my husband might kill me..all I had was my credit cards no cash to do an undercover purchase!

I absolutely died (of laughter)when I read about how that lipstick looked a little “Tyrone Biggums”… so funny. I really want to go out and get these… Especially the red toned ones.

I love these!! I have already bought 2 (on fire red and vivid rose) and was wondering if you knew if these are permanent or limited edition? Just need to know if I need to stock up now or can wait :)

This was so helpful! thanks a bunch, i cant tell you how many times i’ve revisited these at the drugstore & i swear the people who work at shoppers think I’m nuts for going in constantly & drooling over these amazing lipsticks! the one i would have loved to see swatches for is shocking coral! i only have vibrant mandarin right now but am so in love with it even though its winter & im so washed out & pale pasty i still love it, but will definitely rock this as a spring colour, undecided about shocking coral but i think im going to just go for it!
Thanks again this was super helpful :)

I agree with you about the Hot Plum color. I just bought it with hopes of it looking kind of like MAC’s Strong Woman and was kind of disappointed. I do like the formula of this lipstick though! I really think I want to exchange this one for the Electric Orange or the Shocking Coral. Thanks for this post!

      Hi,

For these I actually didn’t use a lipliner. I think its best to try and apply them slowly since they are so vivid. Pursing your lips together after the first application also helps you figure out how much more you need to apply.
