If you’ve been stalking, following Milani Cosmetics on Instagram then you know they have a whole new line of upcoming products that are going to change the way we look at this company. I’ve always loved Milani for being an WOC friendly brand, and I definitely loved their hydrating super pigmented lipsticks and how comparable they were to high end lipsticks. This year Milani has revamped their lip line by repacking their lipsticks in a new sleek gold tube along with providing us with new colors! The other day I received a beautiful package from Milani Cosmetics containing their new Color Statement Lipsticks from the Red and Orange family, two lip pencils and a pencil sharper All packaged in the cutest red lip makeup bag just in time for Valentines Day!!
The Milani Color Statement Lipsticks from the Red and Orange family contain 7 new amazing colors each with their own unique texture and finish so there is something for everybody.
01 Sweet Nectar: The brightest of the 7, Sweet Nectar is a Creme Finish electric coral orange. It reminds of me Milani’s Madarina but with a hint more red.
03 Orange Gina: Orange Gina is another great orange color but what I like is that it contains gold flecks that give it more a golden orange bronze look. This is a pearl finish and what’s great about it is it doesn’t look too frosty on your lips.
04 High Voltage: Now we start to get into the reds. High Voltage is a vinyl reddish orange shade. It goes on super smooth and has a very bright, electric hue. The color is super saturating almost reminding me of one of the Maybelline Vivid Lipsticks!
Red Family Lipsticks
I found that several of the lipsticks from Red Family look almost the same once swatched on. The only good thing about this is that while they look the same Milani gave each one it’s own finish. I would not recommend getting every single one unless you just have to have it in your collection. Just pick out the ones that have finishes that are most appealing to you.
05 Red Label: Red Label is a true primary color red lipstick. It has a cream finis so it goes on smooth.
06 Cherry Crave: Cherry Crave can be a bit deceiving if you look at the packing. It appears to be one of the darker in the tube, but once applied to you lip it takes on a rich cherry shade. Cherry crave is a Metallic Finish
07 Best Red: Best Red appears slightly more darker than Cherry Crave, but again they still take on the same shade once on your lips. Best Red is one of my favorites since it is a Matte Finish
08 Ruby Valentine is a the last of the red family. It’s vinyl finish gives it a sleek, sexy, moisturized, Jessica Rabbitesque look.
So what do you think of the new Milani Color Statement Lipsticks? The reds are kinda all the same, but there is something there for everyone! If I had to choose one it would be Best Red. I like Orange Gina and Sweet Nectar but if I had to choose one I would choose Orange Gina because Sweet Nectar reminds me a color I’ve seen in the Maybelline Vivids Collection.
Milani Color Statement Lipsticks can be found at your local stores or Milani.com. Retail varies based on sales for each individual store, but are listed at $5.49 on the website.
