Zoya Pixie Dust for Summer Swatches

Zoya Summer Pixie Dust Swatches So when Zoya first sent these lovely gorgeous melt in your mouth polishes over for me to review I couldn’t because I had some major nubbage going on.  After what felt like a century my nubbs  have finally grown long enough for me to give you guys some pretty good swatches of the new Zoya Pixie Dust for the coming Summer. Let me just say if you fell in love with the first release of Zoya’s Pixie Dust line you are going to be WITH CHILD over these babies!

Zoya Summer Pixie Dust Beatrix Zoya Summer Pixie Dust Destiny

The textured nail trend has been seen everywhere but I can honestly say that Zoya was the only one to get it absolutely right. Giving a Nail Polish God fearing hoarder everything she needs all wrapped up in one simple formula.  The Zoya Pixie Dust Summer Collection features six brand new colors, the only color that I would have loved to see was a brighter green.

Zoya Summer Pixie Dust Stevie

Zoya Summer Pixie Dust Miranda

For this collection I applied three coats. I allowed at least 2 minutes in between each coat to give the polish enough time to dry so that the following layer would stick and coat better. Zoya Destiny might have just stolen my heart with Zoya Liberty and Miranda followed closely behind.  I gave my run down on the Zoya Pixie Dust collection when they first launched back in the March so if you want  a real complete run down check out that post here.

Zoya Summer Pixie Dust Solange

These polishes are available at Zoya.com and I believe they may be at Ulta also. They retail for $9 per bottle or $54 for the entire set. I bet you can’t pick just one!!

L'oreal Miss Candy Collection Nail Polishes

L’oreal Miss Candy Collection is a whole lot of colorful fun. I received 4 nail polishes from the collection for review. There are 7 colors in this collection not pictured are a pretty nice orange, green and yellow. I must warn you of two things before we get to the swatches. 1. I have nubbs.. I know I know I can’t help it my nails just keep darn breaking! 2. These are jellies, if you don’t like jelly polishes then read no further. However, I must warn you the blue one is pretty epic!

Miss Pixie

Miss Pixie is pretty darn epic. I never expected a jelly blue to look the way this one does. I absolutely love love love it and I can’t wait to pair it with the L’oreal nail lingerie stickers.  L'oreal Miss Candy Collection Nail Polish Miss Pixie

Berry Nice

Berry Nice is a deep jelly purple. It’s not too dark that it doesn’t pair well with spring but it’s dark enough if you’re more into deeper colors.

Sation Candylandia Swatches and Review

Posted on by Melody in Nail Polish, Sation | Leave a comment

Reading my blog you can tell that I am a big fan of Sation Nail Lacquer. I think since stumbling upon it back in July I’ve had pieces from every collection except for the Holiday one. When I saw that Sation was coming up with a Candy Land inspired collection I was excited. If you’re an 80′s baby like me (omg I just told my age), you can remember having hours of fun with the board game. Candylandia is full of twist turns and colors however it is not full of pigment. I received three colors from Sation to review Abbacadazzle, Unicorns are Teal and  I’m so Ogre It.  ”I’m so Ogre It” was a questionable color but the other two were very pretty!

Now, I was all set to like this collection, and honestly I can’t speak on the collection as a whole because I’ve only swatched three lacquers, but the formula of the polish was just not my cup of tea. It took 4-5 coats to just to get a decent opaque like coverage. The three polishes below are very sheer and almost Jelly in Nature. If you know me I’m not a fan of Jelly Polishes at all. If you don’t think I’m ready for this jelly then you are right!

Check out swatches of the three shades below. Once coverage was built the colors looked great.
Sation Candylandia Abbacadazzle

Abbacadazzle is really a gorgeous breathtaking popcorn butter yellowish gold. You know how they say don’t put too much butter on your popcorn? Well, ignore that cause you’re gonna need a lot to get this type of coverage. Read more

Milani Texture Nail Lacquer

Milani Cosmetics Nail Lacquer Textures

Introducing the newest nail craze Milani Texture! This of couse has been seen before in the form of liquid sand or pixidust, but lets be honest anyway you look at it, this new trend of textured nails is really taking over.  I’m  glad that a pocket friendly brand like Milani Cosmetics came out with the line of textured polish in fun and exciting shades that are great for spring and summer.

The Break Down: Milani Texture is a six shade limited edition collection  Each retails for $4.49 and will be in stores starting March. I found that the key to applying these darlings is to allow them to dry between each coat. For all of them I applied at minimum two coats. You can do one coat but you’re polish will look kinda spotty so I suggest doing at least two to get full coverage.  Since there is texture in the polish make sure you roll the bottle or stir the polish with the brush before use.  Check out swatches of these babies below

So what do you think? Will you be adding the new Milani Texture to your nail polish stash? My favorite colors were Purple Streak and Spoiled Fuchsia.

China Glaze Avant Garden Blooming Brights Swatches

China Glaze Avant Garden Blooming Brights Cosmetically Challenged

China Glaze Avant Garden Collection gives nail polish lovers the best of both worlds -Pastel Petals and Blooming Brights! I decided to go with the Blooming Brights Collection since I already have soft pastels this year from Zoya. The Blooming Brights set contains six beautifully done nail colors with three shimmers and three creme formulas. I’m not gonna bore you with much of the details except that I had no trouble application wise. All swatches are two-three coats. I really wish China Glaze would follow suit with the wider brush like a lot of other companies but I’m biased because I have long wide nail beds.

Time for the swatches!!

Sunday Funday- China Glaze Avant Garden Sunday Funday is a Sky Blue creme polish. I really love this color. This color is much brighter then Sation’s “Blue’s Sky’s the Limit” .

Snap My Dragon- China Glaze Avant Garden Snap My Dragon  is a shimmery bright red polish.

Passion For Petals- China Glaze Avant Garden Passion for Petals is a reddish Salmon colored creme polish. It’s sorta the toned down version of Snap my Dragon.

Mimosas before manis- China Glaze Avant Garden Mimosa’s Before Mani’s is a beautiful Coral Shimmer. This was one of my favorites out of the six. It is very reminiscent of L’oreal’s “Orange You Jealous” but with shimmer.

Fancy Pants- Chin Glaze Avant Garden Fancy Pants is another beautiful purple/indigo polish with shimmer. This color showed up blue when I took a picture with my camera phone and posted it to instagram but it’s a gorgeous purple and will definitely  turn heads.

Budding Romance- China Glaze Avant Garden Budding Romance is a murky greenish brown creme polish. It wasn’t one of my top choices out of the bunch but once on it did look nice. I feel this color would look better on those with lighter complexions.

Of all six Fancy Pants and Mimos’s before Mani’s were my favorites, I think this is a pretty good collection. I like how you have the option between pastels and brights. What do you think of the new colors. Will you be picking up any?
