MAC In Extra Dimension Haul

MAC Extra Dimensions Blush and Skin Finish

I had no intentions on buying these, like seriously absolutely none. Well, I looked at them, thought about it, then I decided naw I didn’t need them. Sure enough on the B&M launch date I was bombarded with all the hauls people had done popping up on instagram. So… I fought my way through 5pm traffic and headed into the city to go snatch up a couple for myself. I pat myself on the back for making the best decision ever!!

When I got to the store it was total chaos. My boo thang Iman was visiting from the KOP store and He quickly helped me pick out the colors I wanted. Unfortunately they were out of Double Definition. The one thing I really wanted they were out of.. I had similar luck with the Heroine Lip Pencil

As I’m checking out I kindly asked if they can check once again to see if they had Double Definition. I bit my nails waiting and sure enough.. The heavens opened, birds started singing and I was the proud owner of a Double Definition Skin Finish.

I picked up two of the Skin Finishes Double Definition and Definitely Defined. They retail for $30 each. The Skin Finish is a liquid powder highlighter  with prismatic reflections.  Double Definition features a dark bronze and light gold highlight while Definitely Defined is more of a rose gold with a light pinkish gold highlight.

The In Extra Dimension Blushes I picked up are Bareness, Flaming Chic and Fiery Impact.  Each Blush Retails for $25.

Flaming Chic and Fiery Impact sort of show up pink with red undertones on my skin. Flaming Chic is darker while Fiery Impact is a bit more metallic. Bareness is described as a rosey beige. It shows up sorta ashy peach on my hand but I think mixed with Fiery Impact it would look pretty good. If you use your hands to swatch these you may think they don’t have very good pigmentation. However, if you use a brush you have no problem at all.

There are still several pieces from the In Extra Dimension collection left. I’m so happy that I made the decision to get up and grab these. I’ve used Double Definition every day so far. It’s actually taken the place of my Wet n Wild Bronzer from the Fergie Collection.

My Newest Lip Obession.. The Tarte Maracuja Divine Shine Lip gloss!

Tarte Maracuja Divine Shine Lipgloss

Check out my newest lip obsession,  I know I know I might be late but let me explain. I’ve owned these since December. I actually got them in the Tarte Treat Yourself to Gorgeous set that came out around the holidays. I love love love the eyeliners so I finally decided to give the the Maracuja Divine Shine Lip gloss a try.

The Treat Yourself to Gorgeous set contained four 0.11 fl oz Divine Shine Lip Glosses in  Darling (a soft pink shade), Brazen (bright rose), Genuine (sheer, creamy pinky) , and Giddy (soft coral pink). What I really like about these glosses is that they contain peppermint that gives the lips a bit of a tingle. They are very moisturizing and I find that I usually only have to reapply after eating.

Lets talk the packaging, the slim tube is not too bulky that it wont fit in a smaller makeup bag or a clutch. I love how the Baroque gold pattern on the top and bottom of the tube. It just really makes it look elegant and expensive.

The applicator is different in that it’s not your usual lipgloss brush. It’s an actual lip brush and the cool part about it is that the way you access the lipgloss is by pressing the bottom of the tube. Clicking the button allows the lip gloss to be pushed up and out onto the brush. This way you can control how much or how little you get!

My favorite colors in the set are Brazen and Giddy. I like how they give my lips a hint of color. I don’t have them swatched because the pigment of my lips kind of keeps them from being seen. However, this won’t stop me from wearing them because again I love how moisturizing they are. The Tarte Maracuja Lipgloss comes in 10 additional shades and retail for $21.00.

MAC Fashion Sets Lipstick Review and Swatches

MAC Fashion Sets Lipsticks

Matte is where it’s at!! The new MAC Fashion Sets Collection is one full of bright bold matte colors. It was also the repromote of the iconic lipstick known as Heroine. Twitter was all a buzz with women stalking the MAC website waiting to get these new gorgeous shades. Each Shade came with it’s own lipstick, lip pencil, lip glass and nail polish. I was only interested in grabbing the lipgloss, lipstick and pencil of Heroine but as I was checking out the pencil was snatched from my basket!! I even tried to go to the store and pick it up but again they’d sold out. Word on the street is the pencil be returning in a new collection this summer.

I chose the colors Heroine, Embrace Me and Ablaze because they all seemed to fit my skin tone pretty well (NC45, though aren’t we all). Silly looked as if it would could off too light. I have swatches of each below. I did forget to do arm swatches this time, but I feel you see enough of my skin to get an idea of my skin tone.

MAC Fashion Sets Heroine Lipstick MAC Fashion Sets Embrace Me MAC Fashion Sets Ablaze Lipstick

Heroine is a purple Fushcia toned color. It’s kind of hard to describe except to say that it’s a one of a kind. I haven’t found a real dupe for it just yet, but I have found that several lip glosses compliment it. Embrace me is a matte pink and reminds me of the Maybelline Vivids lipstick in Fuchsia Flash. Ablaze is a beautiful matte Coral that I think will be one of my favorites for the summer. Each lipstick retails or I should say retailed for $15.00. There is always a chance that MAC restocks so make sure you keep checking the site so you don’t miss out again. I did find that if worn without a gloss these lipstick can be a bit drying. If you’re not sure how to properly prep your lips for matte lipsticks make sure you check out my post here.

If you missed out on Heroine make sure you check out the #Theglosmeticchat Twitter party on April 24th. You might just have a chance to win one!

Maybelline 24hr Color Tattoo Summer Limited Edition Duochromes!

Maybelline 24hr Summer Color Tattoo

Spotted and Owned!!! While shopping at Bed Bath and Beyond I ran across the New Limited Edition Maybelline 24hr Color Tattoos for Summer 2013. The set contains six great colors, three pastels and three Duochromes!

Surprised Woman

DUOCHROMES

I’ve always loved the Maybelline 24hr Color Tattoos. They are great to use as eyeshadow bases or to even wear alone. They are oily skin friendly and they only cost $4.99 (at some locations). After I discovered these babies I stopped buying the MAC Cosmetics paint pots which retail for $18.50. These are indeed Limited Edition. I was surprised to find that they are actually packaged now with a label that says just that. If you’re really wanting these do not hesitate at all. If a friend in another area or state finds them before you do have her do a Custom Purchase and just send them to you. These babies most definitely will fly off of shelves. I decided to only pick up the three duochromes and I have swatches for you below.

Maybelline Summer 24 hour color Tattoo Swatches

Out of the three I am head over heals in love with the gorgeous Seashore Frost. On my skin it shows up a bluish gold. It almost reminds me of the MAC pigment Blue Brown. I used this Color Tattoo while creating my “Board Room Beauty” look for our upcoming #GlosmeticChat. It paired so well with green and gold.

IMG_5980

Cool Crush is an iridescent blue with a purplish underone while Waves of Whites looks to be a true iridescent. I can’t wait to use the other two in a look. As the name says they give long lasting wear and I had no creasing what so ever! Make sure you run to you local Bed Bath and Beyond and pick these up. We’ve yet to spot them at another store so if you see them leave a comment below so readers know where to look.

**UPDATE**

I spotted them at Rite Aid on Sunday 4/14/2013. I didn’t look at the price though sorry!
